Weightlifting in Birmingham at Rigs Fitness in Moseley, is going from strength to strength. We now offer a full time ‘Weightlifting Membership‘ which includes two 90 minute technical sessions taught by our BWL Weightlifting coach, Dave Whittington – as well as full use of our specialist facilities 7-days per week. If you’ve been down to see our set-up then you’ll know we offer a fully equipped strength & conditioning facility that can accommodate for all styles of athletic training.
Specifically to weightlifting we have:

- Low profile competition lifting discs

- Two power racks and free standing squat racks
- Glute Ham Developer, Hip Thruster and Jerk Boxes

Dave Whittington – Rigs Fitness Weightlifting Coach
Dave is an experienced strength and conditioning coach and personal trainer, with over 7 years industry experience. Being a British Weightlifting Coach and former High Performance Coach at the prestigious University of Birmingham, Dave has a wealth of experience working with people of all abilities, from novices to international athletes.
A former competitive athlete himself, the two times Englands Strongest Man finalist understands the demands of training hard, and importantly how to combine it with a busy work, social and family life!
Dave is a Level 3 REPs Trainer, BWL Coach and qualified Exercise Referral Consultant. He also holds qualifications in first aid, studio cycling, kettlebell training and is a certifies Inclusive Fitness Initiative Trainer.
