Since winning best functional training gym in the UK at last years National Fitness Awards, we have been inundated with questions about how to join and what gym memberships we offer. So… here is everything you need to know about gym memberships at Rigs Fitness here in Birmingham.


We have four different gym membership options. Unlimited, Performance, Off-Peak & Weightlifting. All give you full access to our award winning facilities but they differ in the amount of classes you can attend and what time of day you can train. The easiest way to join Rigs Fitness is with a monthly Direct Debit gym membership. Saving you the trouble of setting up a standing order or having to find the cash each month, we simply get you to sign up in house with us or online and the rest is done for you.

With all our Direct Debit memberships* we give you 4 options: No Contract, 3 Month, 6 Month or 12 Month – giving you the chance to decide whether you want the freedom to be able to freeze or cancel whenever you like or bring your monthly gym membership cost down with a longer term contract.

What’s our most popular membership?12 Month Unlimited. Giving the member best value for money with access to over 20 taught classes each month as well as full use of our facilities during all opening hours

All of our gym memberships include access to our personal training services, expert advice whenever you need is and NO JOINING FEE.


Don’t want to pay by Direct Debit? No problem at all. We have two offers for anybody who wants to pay using card or cash. Both are up front payments and work out cheaper than paying via Direct Debit.

Pay for 6 months up front, get 1 month free. When you pay for any of our no contract gym memberships up front for 6 months we will give you 1 month completely free. This means a 15% total saving on your gym membership.

Pay for 12 months up front, get 3 months free. When you pay for any of our no contract gym memberships up front for 12 months we will give you 3 months free. This means a 20% gym total saving on your gym membership.

We’ve got a number discount memberships available at Rigs. Here is a list of the offers we currently have running, who is eligible, and how to claim your discount gym membership today: 

Student – If you are a student and have a valid NUS card then you can get 15% off your gym membership at Rigs Fitness. Simply use the promocode: STUDENT when signing up online or in house with us and you will claim your discount gym membership. 

Emergency Services – If you work in the emergency services and have valid proof of employment you can get 15% off your gym membership at Rigs Fitness. Simply use the promocode: EMERGENCY when signing up online or in house with us and you will claim your discount gym membership. 

Family – To be eligible for a family discount membership at Rigs Fitness you need to sign up in a group of 4 or more. Each person singing up will receive 20% off their gym membership when signing up together. This needs to be done in house. Independent Birmingham – If you have a valid Independent Birmingham card then you will receive your first months membership free when signing up online at Rigs Fitness. Simply use the promocode: INDYBRUM when signing up online to claim your discount gym membership.

The Rigs Fitness Athlete Development Programme (ADP) is built around our very own IMPROVE model.

Individual, Measurable, Progressive, Realistic, Optimal, Valid, Educational


“You wouldn’t use the same recipe to bake every cake”.

At Rigs Fitness, we understand that no athlete is the same so no programme should be either. There is no ‘one-size-fits-all’ programme, which is why all our ADP’s are designed based on the needs of any given athlete:

  • Sport or Competition
  • Aims, Goals and Aspirations
  • Biomechanical Restrictions
  • Current Training Age and Physical Ability (via initial subjective and objective assessment measures)
  • Time Commitments & Budget 
  • Club Specific Targets and Individual Requirements


On the Rigs ADP, constant monitoring and assessment ensures progressions and improvement. Be this via objective measures (performance assessments or movement screening) or subjective measures (such as the athletes feelings or coach’s judgement). With pre and post phase assessments, ongoing athlete monitoring and regular feedback, it’s easy to identify your progression and see your performance continue improve.

Moseley Rugby Club & Rigs Fitness Movember

This year Rigs Fitness has teamed up with Moseley Rugby Club to help raise money for prostate cancer through MOVEMBER. The team at Rigs along with the players and coaches at Moseley will be sporting handsome ‘staches throughout the month of November in a bid to help raise money and awareness for the great cause!


The leading global organisation to committed to changing the face of men’s health. The Movember community has raised £346 Million to date and funded over 800 programmes in 21 countires. This work is saving and improving the lives of men affected by prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health problems… and this is why we want YOU to help us raise money for this great cause.

We challenge all of our members to grow their best possible moustache during Movember (formerly known as November), to spark conversation and raise vital funds for its men’s health programs.

We have already set up our, so if you’re a member at Rigs all you have to do is sign up… let us you’re getting involved and get yourself ready to grow a healthy mo. If you don’t want to grow a mo but still want to support then please click the donation page link below and donate to the cause!




Movember Rigs Fitness


1. Once registered at Movember.com each Mo Bro must begin the 1st Movember with a clean shaven face.

2. For the entire month of Movember each Mo Bro must grow and groom a moustache.

3. There is to be no joining of the Mo to your side burns (that’s considered a beard)

4. There is to be no joining of the handlebars to your chin (that’s considered a goatee)

5. Each Mo Bro must conduct himself like a true gentleman.



You may notice that there are a lot of pictures of Moseley Rugby team on our Donation page. This is because we have linked up with the professional rugby team who use Rigs weekly to create an unbeatable Movember team. Moseley have some notorious Mo Growers so you can expect some great photo updates throughout the month – watch this space to keep up to date with the best Mo’s.

Morning Openings – Train Before Work at Rigs Fitness, Solihull, Birmingham

We have listened to your needs, and Early Morning Openings at Rigs Fitness are finally here. We know that so many of you have been waiting to train with us before work and now you can. Starting March 2014 our opening hours will be as follows:

Monday: 7am – 9pm (Early Morning Class)
Tuesday: 7am – 9pm
Wednesday: 7am-9pm (Early Morning Class)
Thursday: 7am – 9pm
Friday: 7am – 9pm
Saturday: 10am – 4pm
Sunday: 10am – 4pm


With our Functional and Elite memberships you will be able to access Rigs Fitness and and make full use of our Award Winning Facilities at any time during our now extended opening hours. Training before work from 7am is now an easy option and you will be able to make full use of our shower and changing facilities so you can travel straight to work from Rigs Fitness. Remember we are only 4 miles from the centre of Birmingham, and 4 miles from the centre of Solihull.

RIGS FITNESS has been open for 1 year this August, and to celebrate we’re having an Open Weekend where everybody trains for FREE! You don’t have to be a member, just turn up between 9am Saturday 10th August4pm Sunday 11th August and use all the facilities and classes at Rigs as much as you like… Including:







We are the only dedicated functional fitness centre, and strength & conditioning gym in the Solihull/Birmingham area, so use our open weekend to come down and see what our unique facility has to offer.
