Since winning best functional training gym in the UK at last years National Fitness Awards, we have been inundated with questions about how to join and what gym memberships we offer. So… here is everything you need to know about gym memberships at Rigs Fitness here in Birmingham.


MEMBERSHIP OPTIONS

We have four different gym membership options. Unlimited, Performance, Off-Peak & Weightlifting. All give you full access to our award winning facilities but they differ in the amount of classes you can attend and what time of day you can train. DIRECT DEBIT 

The easiest way to join Rigs Fitness is with a monthly Direct Debit gym membership. Saving you the trouble of setting up a standing order or having to find the cash each month, we simply get you to sign up in house with us or online and the rest is done for you.

With all our Direct Debit memberships* we give you 4 options: No Contract, 3 Month, 6 Month or 12 Month – giving you the chance to decide whether you want the freedom to be able to freeze or cancel whenever you like or bring your monthly gym membership cost down with a longer term contract.

What’s our most popular membership?12 Month Unlimited. Giving the member best value for money with access to over 20 taught classes each month as well as full use of our facilities during all opening hours

All of our gym memberships include access to our personal training services, expert advice whenever you need is and NO JOINING FEE.


CARD OR CASH

Don’t want to pay by Direct Debit? No problem at all. We have two offers for anybody who wants to pay using card or cash. Both are up front payments and work out cheaper than paying via Direct Debit.

Pay for 6 months up front, get 1 month free. When you pay for any of our no contract gym memberships up front for 6 months we will give you 1 month completely free. This means a 15% total saving on your gym membership.

Pay for 12 months up front, get 3 months free. When you pay for any of our no contract gym memberships up front for 12 months we will give you 3 months free. This means a 20% gym total saving on your gym membership.

MEMBERSHIP OFFERS & DISCOUNTS

We’ve got a number discount memberships available at Rigs. Here is a list of the offers we currently have running, who is eligible, and how to claim your discount gym membership today: 

Student – If you are a student and have a valid NUS card then you can get 15% off your gym membership at Rigs Fitness. Simply use the promocode: STUDENT when signing up online or in house with us and you will claim your discount gym membership. 

Emergency Services – If you work in the emergency services and have valid proof of employment you can get 15% off your gym membership at Rigs Fitness. Simply use the promocode: EMERGENCY when signing up online or in house with us and you will claim your discount gym membership. 

Family – To be eligible for a family discount membership at Rigs Fitness you need to sign up in a group of 4 or more. Each person singing up will receive 20% off their gym membership when signing up together. This needs to be done in house. Birmingham based gym, Rigs Fitness has been named a winner at a prestigious National Fitness Industry Awards ceremony. The club beat off strong competition to be crowned ‘The Best Functional Fitness Training Gym in the UK’ and ‘Regional Gym of the Year Midlands & Wales Runner Up’ at the National Fitness Awards.

Rigs Fitness are no strangers to these National Awards having won ‘The Best New Gym in the UK’ 2013, and ‘Regional Gym of the Year Midlands & Wales Runner Up’ 2014.

The awards, organised by Script Events and leading industry publication Workout, with support from headline sponsor ServiceSport, are now in their seventh year and recognise excellence and achievement in all corners of the industry – and see almost 600 of the UK’s independent gyms nominate each year.

Rigs Fitness Owner, Sam Smith, 28 from Solihull said: “We’ve been dedicated to our niche as a Functional Fitness Training Gym for 4 and half years now and to gain recognition on a national level as the best Functional Fitness Gym in the UK is the best accolade we could receive”

“Receiving this award has solidified Rigs Fitness as one of the most successful independent gyms in the UK and at under 5 years old one of the most successful new businesses in the fitness industry.”

To scoop the trophy, the gym went through a rigorous assessment process, which involved being visited by a member of the Workout team who explored the facility, chatted to members and staff and examined all areas of the business from member retention to customer service. Reports were then compiled and passed on to an expert judging panel, which included top personal trainer Richard Callender and award winning gym owner Steve Johnson, who decided the winners in each category from a shortlist of up to seven.

National Fitness Awards’ director Judith Halkerston said: “This year’s winners should be very very proud – the high standard of entries made it a tough job to select a final shortlist never mind a winner and runner-up in each category.

Awards were handed out in over 20 categories at a glittering ceremony at The Athena in Leicester, attended by over 850 people and hosted by boxing legend Ricky Hatton and award winning personal trainer and TV personality Katie Bulmer-Cooke.

Why Rigs Fitness?: Simply put, Rigs Fitness has the best Atmosphere, the best staff, and the best equipment in the Midlands by far

Bio: In 2007 I was invited to Campion Hill in Leamington Spa for a local Fourcross race. This was to become the start of my journey in competitive cycling in one of the most difficult disciplines, BMX Racing. I continued racing Fourcross and did the entire national series in 2008, in 2009 I set up and ran the Yeti UK Fourcross team where all 5 of us did the entire national series plus some high profile Dual Slalom races. By this time I wanted to start improving my results and decided the best way was to enter the Gym and start training there in order to develop more power and make myself more crash resistant.

Over time my knowledge of anatomy and proper nutrition grew and I started spending more time studying how to lift, eat and train. After getting hooked on BMX racing in 2010 I understood the flexibility, explosiveness and control needed by all riders if they are to make it to a high level. The next step for me is to race the entire 2014 European Calendar and to help others with their specific fitness goals through LR Personal Training.
